Balloon sinuplasty is a minimally invasive procedure for treating chronic sinusitis. It utilizes a balloon catheter to gently expand the sinus passages, opening up the airways to improve breathing and drainage. Unlike traditional endoscopic sinus surgery, there is no cutting or removal of bone and tissue. Most patients are able to resume normal activities within a couple of days.

Allergies are an exaggerated immune system response to an otherwise harmless substance. The body defends itself by releasing chemicals called histamines into the bloodstream. These cause inflammation of the skin, sinuses, airways and digestive system, resulting in cold-like symptoms such as runny nose, cough, stuffy nose, sore throat, itchy or watery eyes and postnasal drip. They may occur seasonally or year round.

Hearing loss is one of the most common physical conditions in the U.S. It strikes people of all ages, young and old. It can be the result of aging, excessive noise exposure or other factors ranging from impacted earwax to trauma or disease. Most forms of hearing loss have no cure, but many patients find treatment with hearing aids to be successful.

Patients suffering from balance disorders often experience symptoms of dizziness. In addition to feeling faint or lightheaded, they might suffer from nausea, confusion, blurred or double vision, tinnitus and disorientation. Vertigo, a sensation often described as a “spinning room,” is another common symptom. Dizziness occurs when the brain incorrectly senses movement due to false signals from the balance and sensory systems.
